Treating Diabetes in Dogs and Cats: How to Get Started on the Right Foot

0.5 CE Credit Hour / Veterinarians & Veterinary Technicians

Overview:

The treatment of diabetes in dogs and cats is complex and requires a great deal of patience. Many presentations about diabetes focus on the long-term treatment and monitoring of our patients. As owner surveys have confirmed, the first few weeks of treatment can make or break an owner’s willingness to continue treatment. This presentation will focus on the beginning of treatment instead with the goal of leaving attendees confident that they will be able to lead owners smoothly into the treatment of this complex disease.

Learning Objectives:

  • Be able to consider all factors when creating a treatment and monitoring plan
  • Leave owners comfortable to treat their pets’ diabetes
  • Utilize all clinic resources to provide the best service
