Dr. Ringold attended the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in Madison, WI where he earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. He then completed an internship in small animal medicine, surgery, and critical care at the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Fort Collins, CO. He practiced emergency medicine and shelter medicine in San Diego, CA for 10 years while teaching at a community college and volunteering at the wildlife rehabilitation center for endangered species of small cats. Following his time in San Diego, he completed a Diagnostic Imaging Residency at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in Columbia, MO.

Dr. Ringold now lives in Montgomery County, MD with his two sons, two daughters, and their cat, Superfly. In his imagined free time, he would enjoy snowboarding, trail running, mountain biking, lying in a hammock with a book, and pottery.

Overview:

This presentation will help practitioners to more confidently evaluate the radiographic appearance of the structures contained within the mediastinum. Attendees will develop a systematic approach to radiographic evaluation mediastinum based on alterations of the normal radiographic appearance of these organs, thereby enhancing recognition of the most common pathologies, generating differential diagnoses and developing a clinical course of action.

  • To improve recognition of pathology within the mediastinum based on understanding the radiographic anatomy
  • To understand how pathology in other areas of the thorax and alter the appearance of the mediastinum
  • To localize mass lesions based on the observed mass effect
