Overview:
In this 1-hour lecture, Natalie L. Marks, DVM, CVJ, CCFP, Elite FFCP-V, will start with a quick review of the pathophysiology of canine diabetes, its similarities to human juvenile diabetes, and the differences between canine and feline manifestations of this disease. Attendees will be presented with common and uncommon clinical signs and clinicopathologic abnormalities that help identify comorbidities. The diagnostic strategy will be quickly reviewed, allowing more time to be spent on treatment and monitoring options. The lecture will conclude with innovations and strategies attendees can implement in their practices.
