Successfully Managing Cats with Chronic Kidney Disease: Managing the Two A's

1.0 CE Credit Hours | Veterinarians & Veterinary Technicians

Overview:

Marks will start with a quick review of how one of our most common feline patients present – for weight loss and poor quality of life. We will then talk about some of the important foundation diagnostics for chronic kidney disease as well as some of the other differential disease states. Then, we will review and clarify the different stages of CKD as determined by the IRIS staging system and other associated diseases. The final sections of this presentation will focus on treatment in the two areas critical to improving quality of life: appetite and anemia. This will include specific therapy guidance and monitoring, as well as other supportive strategies for chronic kidney disease patients.
