Overview:
Commercial raw diets can be made safely, but they are not all created equally. This talk will cover raw food category growth, perceived benefits, a brief introduction of published research, and an overview of food safety & quality controls, including pathogen mitigation and nutritional adequacy. How to effectively evaluate a commercial raw diet will also be discussed, as well as defining factors of an excellent commercial raw pet food company.

Susan Wynn DVM, DACVIM (Nutrition)
Susan G. Wynn, DVM, DACVIM (Nutrition) is a graduate of the University of Georgia, home of the national football champion bulldogs! Before joining Instinct Pet Food, she was in private practice for 31 years, most recently with BluePearl Veterinary Specialists. After a postdoc in immunology and virology at the Emory School of Medicine, she became interested in nutrition as well as nutritional and herbal supplements. She has authored 3 textbooks on integrative medicine and became board certified in Veterinary Clinical Nutrition. After many years of teaching and serving on advisory and professional boards, she joined Instinct Pet Food as Senior Director of Scientific Affairs.
