This course will give an overview of radiation safety - both in and out of the clinic to include an overview of the use of mechanical positioning aids and PPE. Additionally, suggestions on radiographic technique development will be given along with sample canine and equine positioning.
To gain additional knowledge on:

⦁ Non-manual patient restraint during radiographic procedures

Betsy Charles, DVM, MA
Elizabeth “Betsy” Charles, DVM, MA, believes all professionals have the capacity to be exceptional people of influence by learning the skills necessary to become effective communicators, relationship builders, and boundary setters. Charles holds a master’s degree in organization leadership and uses that expertise to help veterinary professionals understand how servant leaders can facilitate the development of high-functioning organizations. She has presented at over half of the veterinary colleges in the United States, numerous state veterinary medical associations, the American Association of Equine Practitioners national convention, the North American Veterinary Community, and the Family American Veterinary Medical Foundation Veterinary Leadership Conference. Charles is the executive director of the Veterinary Leadership Institute and the CEO and founder of Radiology Rules. When she takes a break from trying to make a positive difference for the profession, she enjoys having meaningful conversations with all who cross her path, developing young entrepreneurs as they pursue their passions, riding her horse Lenny, reading, and hiking with her red heeler, Sadie.
