Shannon Sura, DVM, MBA
Dr. Shannon Sura is the diagnostics medical education lead in point-of-care platforms with Zoetis. She earned her DVM from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, and her marketing focused MBA from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carry School of Business. She has more than 20 years of knowledge and experience having worked as an associate veterinarian, private practice owner, medical director, and a professional services veterinarian with various companies. Dr. Sura maintains her clinical connection when employed in industry by working as a relief veterinarian in both general practice and emergency medicine. Dr. Sura’s passion in practice is education that increases efficiency and proficiency within the hospital and promotes service marketing to help drive better value to increase uptake of gold standard recommendations.
Moderator: Cory D. Penn, DVM
Dr. Cory Penn received his DVM from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in following receiving his Bachelor of Science from Eastern Illinois University. Before joining Abaxis and Zoetis, Dr. Penn was a small animal veterinarian and medical director in central Illinois. He joined Abaxis Global Diagnostics in 2016 as a Professional Services Veterinarian for the Central and Western United States and after the acquisition of Abaxis, held the same role with Zoetis Diagnostics.
Dr. Penn is currently Senior Veterinary Diagnostic Platform Lead for VETSCAN IMAGYST with Zoetis Global Diagnostics.
Dr. Penn currently resides in the Midwest US with his wife Emily, three daughters, Harper, Reese, and Charlotte; Labrador retriever, Chloe; and cats, Fluffy and Pinky. In his free time, Dr. Penn enjoys spending time with his family and being outdoors.
