Overview:
This RACE approved CE session is an immersive, clinic-based program inviting attendees into a real-world dermatology setting (Dr. Andrew Rosenberg and team) to explore a comprehensive, team-driven approach to the diagnosis and management of canine pruritus. Filmed at Animal Dermatology Clinic in Wayne, New Jersey, this educational program will follow the patient journey from the front desk to diagnosis and treatment, offering insights from client service representatives (CSRs), veterinary technicians, a board-certified veterinary dermatologist, and even the pet owner.
Through expert interviews, practical demonstrations, and case-based discussions, this program will focus on the implementation of a multimodal, diagnostic-first strategy for managing chronic dermatologic cases. Viewers will walk away with actionable tips on utilizing the dermatologic database, communicating more effectively with clients, maximizing technician involvement, and incorporating therapeutic innovations—including Zenrelia™ (ilunocitinib tablets) —into clinical practice.
Learning Objectives:
- Implement a structured, multimodal approach to the diagnosis and treatment of canine pruritus using a complete dermatologic database.
- Enhance client communication and continuity of care through effective intake, record-sharing, and previsit preparation.
- Utilize in-clinic diagnostic techniques such as skin scrapings, impression cytology, and Wood lamp exams to support clinical decision-making.
- Understand emerging therapeutic options, including Zenrelia™ (ilunocitinib tablets), and incorporate these tools into cost-effective, individualized treatment plans.
- Foster a collaborative team culture, empowering CSRs, technicians, and veterinarians to play active roles in managing dermatologic cases from start to finish.
INDICATIONS
Zenrelia is indicated for control of pruritus associated with allergic dermatitis and control of atopic dermatitis in dogs at least 12 months of age.

WARNING: INADEQUATE IMMUNE RESPONSE TO VACCINES. Based on results of the vaccine response study, dogs receiving Zenrelia are at risk of an inadequate immune response to vaccines. Discontinue Zenrelia for at least 28 days to 3 months prior to vaccination and withhold Zenrelia for at least 28 days after vaccination. Dogs should be up to date on vaccinations prior to starting Zenrelia. Do not use in dogs less than 12 months old or dogs with a serious infection. Monitor dogs for infections because Zenrelia may increase susceptibility to infections, including adenoviral hepatitis and pancreatitis. Neoplastic conditions (benign and malignant) were observed during clinical studies. Consider the risks and benefits of treatment in dogs with a history of recurrence of these conditions. The most common adverse reactions were vomiting, diarrhea and lethargy. Zenrelia has not been evaluated in breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs and concurrent use with glucocorticoids, cyclosporine, or other systemic immunosuppressive agents has not been tested. Andrew Rosenberg
Dr. Andrew Rosenberg earned his Bachelor of Science with distinction in research from Cornell University in 2005, continuing on to receive his DVM from Cornell’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. He completed his 3-year dermatology residency with Animal Dermatology Clinic-Tustin in southern California in 2013 and achieved Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD) in the same year. Dr. Rosenberg was recognized with the ACVD Clinical Science Residents Research Award for his work in cyclosporine associated gingival overgrowth in dogs.
Dr. Rosenberg is an active member of the ACVD and currently is the out-going - Chairperson of the ACVD Education Committee and is the incoming President the ACVD. He has authored numerous research articles and lectures extensively throughout the US and internationally. He has appeared on television on Animal Planet’s the Zoo, News12 New Jersey and Nat Geo Mundo. He has also appeared on numerous Podcasts and radio shows.
