Dr. Mariana Pardo graduated veterinary school from Universidad Mayor, Chile in 2009. She worked as an ICU technician for 4 years in Miami, while she worked on validating her degree in the states. She then completed two emergency and critical care internships; at the University of Georgia between 2013 and 2014 and the University of Florida between 2014 and 2015. She then went on to pursue her emergency and critical care residency at Cornell University between 2015 and 2018. After becoming Chile’s and one of Latin America’s FIRST and FEMALE board certified criticalist, she started the critical department at the Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island. She is bilingual and merges her love of traveling with being an international speaker. Her greatest passion is teaching and has made it one of her missions to give back to the Latin America community as much as possible by participating in numerous continuous education programs. She is passionate about advocating towards diversity and inclusion in veterinary medicine and is the mentorship director of the Latinx Veterinary Medical Association and is a member of the ACVECC Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

Erik Zager, DVM, DACVECC is a board-certified Emergency and Critical Care specialist, managing partner, and co-department head of the Emergency and Critical Care services at Philadelphia Animal Specialty and Emergency (PASE).

Dr. Zager attended Bucknell University in Pennsylvania where he earned a bachelor of arts in animal behavior. He went on to Cornell University for his doctor of veterinary medicine. After earning his DVM in 2013 he completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the New York City Animal Medical Center.

Dr. Zager has presented at the International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Symposium and has authored and co-authored articles in veterinary journals. During his veterinary education, Dr. Zager participated in multiple community-focused veterinary endeavors, including trips to rural areas of the American Midwest to provide wellness and preventative medicine to disadvantaged communities.

Dr. Zager’s professional interests include the treatment of sepsis, endocrine emergencies, intoxications, and the use of focused ultrasound in the critically ill. Outside of work he enjoys traveling, hiking, and baking. He has two 2 rescue cats, Brando and Otto.

Dr. Christman is the Chief Veterinary Officer at Fetch dvm360®, the nation’s leading multimedia company in the veterinary profession. He is an international speaker on leadership, wellbeing and motivation. Author of, “Honey, Have You Squeezed the Dachshund?”, Dr. Christman is passionate about helping pet parents with pet disabilities. He is a social media personality with almost 600,000 followers on TikTok. Dr. Christman is the host of dvm360®’s, “The Vet Blast Podcast”.
