Overview:
The incidence of periodontal disease increases with aging pets, and while a lifetime of care may decrease serious issues in later life, many seniors need significant care. With 'pet-alized' assessment and analgesia/anesthesia protocols, you can minimize the risk factor to get them the care they need. Educating the owner as to the benefits of managing this chronic periodontal state can help convince them of the necessity of treatment.
Learning Objectives:
- Systemic impact -inflammaging
- Incidence of dental disease in older patients
- Concern with anesthesia in older dental patients
- Common Oral and Dental problems in older patients
