Dr. Joseph Wakshlag is Professor of Nutrition and Sports Medicine at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Joe conducted the first ever clinical trial on dogs using ElleVet CBD and continues to lead the way in hemp research.

Overview:


The use of cannabidiol (CBD) and its native plant cannabinoid (CBDA) are beginning to show utility in veterinary medicine for issues related to pain which will be highlighted in this lecture. Considering the nervous systems intricate connection to many disease processes there is a widening spectrum of use of these CBD/CBDA rich hemp products across diseases such as epilepsy, atopic dermatitis and behavior modification. Although dosing for pain is becoming very clear the dosing and products used for other disorders is less clear - but will be discussed based on what is currently known within the veterinary literature base with comparisons to human data using CBD isolates.
