Curt R. Coffman DVM, DAVDC
Dr. Curt Coffman received his B.S. in agriculture from Kansas State University in 1990, his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri in 1993 and spent the first years of his veterinary career in small animal, private practice in Tempe, Arizona. He joined Arizona Veterinary Dental Specialists in 2001 to complete his residency training for board certification in dentistry and continued with AVDS caring for dogs and cats for over 20 years in specialty referral practice. Dr. Coffman is qualified as a Board-Certified Veterinary Dentist by the American Veterinary Dental College (Diplomate of the AVDC) and as a Fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry (FAVD).
Dr. Coffman serves as a consultant and dental instructor for multiple veterinary schools including Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine in Glendale, Arizona, and University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine in Tucson.Dr. Coffman served on the Board of Directors of the American Veterinary Dental College from 2010-2017 and as President of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry Board of Directors from 2009-2011. He is currently Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Veterinary Dentistry. Dr. Coffman received the 2017 Arizona Veterinarian of the Year award from the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association in recognition of outstanding service and contributions to the veterinary profession. In 2018, Dr. Coffman received the Peter Emily Service Award from the Foundation for Veterinary Dentistry, presented for contributions to the AVDC and the field of veterinary dentistry.
Dr. Coffman is the author of multiple publications in the field of veterinary dentistry and enjoys lecturing and presenting dental education topics to doctors and veterinary technicians. He has been fortunate to be invited to lecture and teach across the country and around the world. This pairs well with his interests outside of the office that include traveling, food/wine, and golf.
