Overview:
This course reviews common breed-specific dermatologic disorders and focused nutrition approaches to help manage these patients. Nutrient needs to address metabolic, physiologic and clinical manifestations of these disorders will be discussed. Recommendations regarding diet and nutrient supplementation options will be provided.
Learning Objectives:
- Recognize breeds reported to have a high predilection to specific dermatologic disorders.
- Identify the nutrients of concern/interest that reportedly influence these dermatologic disorders and the commercial diet and supplement options that provide the beneficial nutrient profile.
- Develop appropriate nutrition support plans to best manage these specific derm disorders.
